DRU, the fireplace company with over 270 years of innovation and success.

DRU was founded in the Netherlands in 1754 as a foundry making pots and pans. This led to the manufacture of cast iron fireplaces and, in the 20^th century, gas fires.

DRU developed the balanced flue system, which is the standard technology for many gas heating appliances. In the early 2000s, it was adapted for contemporary gas fires, enabling the design of models in a large variety of formats, such as 2-sided, 3 sided and ‘tunnel’ fires.

In the 21^st century, DRU diversified into the production of electric, wood and bioethanol fires and stoves, and now has a huge portfolio of fireplace products for domestic and commercial settings, including hotels, restaurants and wellness locations.

DRU products comply with all UK and European Ecodesign emissions and efficiency standards. From its HQ in Manchester, the company serves a network of over 200 fireplace retailers using experienced customer services and technical support teams.
